Getting Started:  S
o you have an idea for a class or workshop?

  1. Check the Miller’s calendar for times that work with your schedule (see the "calendar" link to the left)
  2. Email lee@millersarts.com a preliminary proposal which includes:  a brief class description (one sentence is fine), dates, time, age range of participants.  We can nail down the dates and times together later on but it is helpful to have something to start with.
  3. Lee will be in touch to confirm.  You will see some deadlines below.  If you have missed them, don't worry.  The deadlines below are for our two, major seasonal mailed brochures.  If you really want to get started, we can still promote through the Miller's monthly newsletter.  The response might not be as good but you are welcome to try.

Once Confirmed, please note the deadlines and send the following information (even if we have already confirmed by phone or email, this way I have it all in one place!)

Deadline for the fall-winter series publication (October-January):  July 30th
Deadline for the winter-spring series publication (February-May):  November 30th
Note:  these deadlines are for our two, major seasonal mailed brochures.  If you really want to get started, we can still promote through the Miller's monthly newsletter.  The response might not be as good but you are welcome to try it.

MILLER’S FEES, CLASS FEES & MATERIALS FEES

Miller’s takes 30% of class fees so be sure to build this into your class fees and class sizes.  We pre-register folks one week to 10 days prior to the first day of class.  We will notify you if we need to cancel the workshop.  You are welcome to call and check in at any time.

Past workshops have generally run at about $10 per person/hour not including materials.  Materials fees are paid directly to the teachers on the day of class but will be advertised.

 REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

We require pre-registration.  Miller’s will register participants, collect payment and pay teachers on the day of, or within the first week following workshop.  Our pre-registration deadline is between 7-10 days before the workshop or class starts.  If you prefer other arrangements be sure to include those in your class proposal.

  KEYS & SETUP

Plan to stop by Miller’s before your workshop so that we can talk about any special set up requirements you might have.  Come by when I am open or call for an appointment at other times.

I may not be available to open up for you on the day of your class.  In that case, you may pick up a key in the week before your workshop.  There are more details about the heat, and supplies on the website if you click on the “Rates” button.
